About the journal

IJMT is a forum for scientists, clinicians, music therapists and musicologists who study how music, sound and vibration affect human physiology, the brain and other living systems. We publish original research, reviews, clinical case studies and short communications.

Every research article goes through double-blind peer review. Neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identity.

1. 01  ScreeningAn editor checks scope, format, ethics statements and similarity.
2. 02  ReviewTwo independent experts review the anonymised manuscript.
3. 03  RecommendationThe handling editor summarises the reports and recommends a decision.
4. 04  DecisionThe editor-in-chief makes the final decision and schedules accepted papers into an issue.

IJMT follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

• •Authors declare funding sources and any conflict of interest when they submit.
• •Studies involving people or animals need approval from an institutional ethics committee, and informed consent where relevant.
• •Every submission is checked for plagiarism and duplicate publication.
• •Corrections and retractions are published openly and linked to the original article.

All articles are free to read and download immediately on publication, under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 licence. Each article receives a DOI and is archived permanently on Zenodo.

IJMT is published by the Indian Association of Music Therapy (IAMT), a registered trust that promotes evidence-based music therapy in India through training, research and recognition.
